Sukkot
Hello Folks,
This is Bill Jacobson. Some of you will remember that in 2003 we organized a Sukkot celebration at Loyd Park in the Dallas, Tx area. Well, here we go again. Back in 03 we hosted 350 of our closest friends and I think almost all would agree that YHVH blessed our socks off.
We hadnt intended to organize Sukkot again. But you know what? YHVH has a way of changing our plans! The calendar controversy that has arisen this year has caused some of us to be convicted of the proper timing of Passover and Sukkot that is different than the majority. An unfortunate spirit of rancor has accompanied these discussions. And it is clear that there will be few options for those holding to an Abib calendar.
The long and short of it is that someone has to step up to the plate to organize Sukkot for those holding to an early date. And we are doing that. So, heres the deal....
The web site isnt finished yet, but check back regularly for updated information. Ben Davis will be coordinating worship again for the community. Many of you will remember the special touch that Ben had two years ago and how we were led into profound worship experiences.
Music this year will be lead by Jimmie Black. We first met Jimmie during Shavuot, 2004. I guarantee that you will love this guy. What a servants heart. Check him out at http://www.jgministries.org/. We will soon have some samples of his music on the SukkotInTents web site.
This year we will plan to have our teaching opportunities during the day. We will not be trying to combine teaching with worship in the evenings. We will be devoting our evening times to worship experiences.
Frankly, I have no idea who will be speaking during the week at this point. Given the calendar controversy, I think many of the more well known folks will not be interested in joining us.
We really dont know how many folks might be interested in celebrating with us. If this is something that rings in your heart, would you please drop us an email to let us know what you are thinking. Our planning will be so much easier with better knowledge of how many to planfor.
