Sukkot With The Jacobson's

So we were at Bell Cow Lake with Monte Judah's group for Sukkot. Two of our single lady friends were staying in a borrowed RV right in front of our trailer. Our trailer was three feet behind this RV. A brave brother kept a hose on our trailer as this RV melted down and saved our trailer. We had only minor damage to ours. The ladies lost everything they had with them, including most importantly two Yorkshire Terriers.
Frankly, it's been one hell of a Sukkot. This was just the culmination of a series of trials. But, you know, I guess this is really fulfilling the mitzvot. At Sukkot we remember our freedom from Egypt. And we remember the forty year camping trip in the desert. Did Israel have problems with their RV's? I don't remember that story in the Torah. While Sukkot is the Season of Our Joy, it is important that the joy we remember is that of spiritual liberation. We still have the problems of living day to day together.
This culminating trial highlighted that so beautifully. From the brothers jumping in to help out as the fire destroyed the RV; to the comforting arms holding Sandy and Joan in their loss; to finally an incredible generosity of taking care of the widows and orphans by Monte's team and the Congregation of the Righteous gathered at Bell Cow Lake.
Thank you all for a truly intents Sukkot experience.
